Group Head of Corporate Finance, Regional Head of Origination and Client Coverage, North East Asia and Global Head of Strategic Client Coverage Group appointed
26 March 2008, London/Singapore - Standard Chartered Bank today announced three senior appointments in Corporate Finance and Origination and Client Coverage.
Sean Wallace has been appointed as the new Group Head of Corporate Finance. He takes over from Vis Shankar who will now focus on his roles as Group Head of Origination and Client Coverage and Chairman of Principal Finance and Private Banking.
Sean joins Standard Chartered from Franklin Templeton's private equity arm Darby Overseas Investments, where he was head of their Asian operations. Prior to Franklin Templeton, he held senior positions at JPMorgan and Merrill Lynch.
Sean will be a member of the Wholesale Banking Management Group (WBMG) reporting directly to Mike Rees, Chief Executive Officer, Wholesale Banking.

Charles Alexander has been appointed the new Regional Head of Origination and Client Coverage, North East Asia, replacing Andrew Bester who is now Chief Financial Officer of the Bank's Consumer Banking business. Charles joins from Lehman Brothers, where he was Head of Asia Corporate Finance.
Prior to Lehman Brothers, Charles held senior positions at JP Morgan and McKinsey & Company, having begun his career with the Boston Consulting Group. He will report directly to Vis Shankar.

Rahul Goswamy, who is currently the Global Head of Corporate Advisory, will become the Global Head of the Strategic Client Coverage Group. Rahul takes up the newly created position which will oversee key client relationships of the Bank. Rahul will report directly to Vis Shankar. His replacement will be announced shortly.
